West Point is my first choice. However, I also want to apply to the Air Force Academy. Should I ask my congressman for USMA (because it is more likely) and my senators for USAFA?
Also, when I send the general letter to my senators, can I simply say "I am seeking nomination to a SA" or do I have to mention a specific academy?

You should send a letter to your senators and congressman/woman requesting information and an application for a nomination to a service academy. You should not have to specify which academy in this correspondence. Before you send this letter though check to see if the MOC has their application online that you can download. I actually only sent one letter to request an app (to my rep), both NC senators had their applications online.

When you get their apps, most likely you will have the option to rank your choices. That's when you'll say USMA is your first choice.

My senators only let me apply to one and my congressman had me rank. I did USMA for both senators and put USAFA as #2 for my congressmen, because I wanted more cracks at USMA!
