For all of you still waiting, I soooo feel your pain! But, I wanted to briefly share what has happened to DS in the year since he got TWE's from both NROTC and USNA...
The rejection from NROTC came April 1, followed by the TWE from USNA on April 7. It was devastating, but DS recovered and decided to reapply to USNA. NROTC Scholarship also contacted him and encouraged him to reapply. Both places said there was absolutely nothing wrong with his applications. (This is where a mom's frustration level hits the roof!) At any rate, he headed to a nearby university, joined the NROTC unit as a college programmer, and took classes that he would have been taking at USNA.
About two weeks into the first semester he told me that he was dropping his reap to USNA. He LOVES his unit and the school. He has excelled beyond belief...4.0 gpa, squad leader, PRT Team for Northwest Navy competition. That said, we are STILL waiting on a scholarship for a Tier 1 major. The money is just not there folks.
I just wanted to share that life goes on. There are bigger plans at work in the lives of our children and those young men and women who on are this path WILL succeed no matter what!
