Appointment Notification Question

I received a nomination from my congressman last october. Our district had elections last year, and now we have a new congressman. What happens in this situation regarding notification? I am a 2015 3q'd candidate, and I haven't received a call from the MOC yet. Maybe he is still getting settled with his new job? Or he just simply let's the BFE be the initial notification, without calling appointees.. I'm not trying to come across as overconfident, I know that its possible that I won't receive an appointment this year.

I also have a presidential nomination, so maybe I am competing on that slate due to a principal nom already given out from my district.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Chief,

We had a similar situation with our MOC. In this case the new MOC called us instead. There is no requirement for any of them to call you. It is up to them.

I do not know if anyone will call you with a Presidential nomination, but you can call your MOC and ask them if they notify. In any case you should know something next week, a lot of notifications went out last Friday.

Best of luck!

Notifications are totally voluntary and individual. When my son received his appointment in November - 2007, no one notified him. We looked at his online status about once a week, and on November 3rd, it changed to "Appointment Offered". 1 week later, on November 10th, there was the BFE in the Mailbox. The MOCs NOR the ALO knew anything about it. I understand possibly the MOCs because an early appointment can only be made with a Non-MOC Nomination such as a presidential. But even the ALO didn't know the appointment was coming. Matter of fact, we saw my son's ALO at his high school football game and informed her at that time. So; you never know how the notification will be made. If at all.

do the bfe's get sent out at the same time as the twe's, or do bfe's get mailed, then the twe's?

Based on what I read on a different thread, VERY large batch of TWEs went out Friday along with the batch of BFEs, and another large batch of TWEs is going to follow shortly (hopefully followed by some prep school offers). Hope this info is correct......:yikes:

You're correct. My understanding is that a substancial portion of the candidates will be notified this week. Preppies and Falcon Scholars will follow. Good Luck to everyone!
