So, at this point, is there much chance left of getting an appointment?? I got deferred from EA but I sent in a TON more stuff, improved my PFE, called and email my officer etc. , but I'm just a little discouraged. Any thoughts? I'm going CRAZY!!

There has not been much activity at all on the CGA threads lately, so not sure how the appointment process has been proceeding. A couple weeks back there was a post about a good number of offers going out, but haven't heard anything since then. Hopefully they are not done yet, as we are waiting like you are! DS was rolled over to regular admission from EA like you, and also sent in updated info but we have heard nothing since. At least for now, no news is good news (DS got TWE from USAFA today). Don't know if the CGA will do something similar soon, or will wait until the very last moment to send the TWEs. ANYONE WITH ANY UPDATED INFO, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CHIME IN:help:

My DS and I have befriended the AAP who handles our area. He called me yesterday to give me an update on what's going on in Admissions. Apparently there is one more review board that will look at the last 400 or so packages. My DS is in this last group. I'm sure your DS is in the same boat. So it looks like they've got one shot, so let's hope for the best! Good luck to the rest of you out there!

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat. No wonder it's been so quiet! DS (deferred to RA) called and emailed his AO a couple times after submitting the requested additional info hoping to get to speak with him and to see if there was any update to the status of his application. He did get an email reply stating that his additional info had been received and added to his file but that so far there had been no change in the status of his application...The waiting continues:eek:
Good luck to all -- we gotta hang in there!!

I was told my file would go in front of the Board around April 4, at which, I believe that would be one of the latest to be reviewed.

I understand how anxious you are...I didn't find out I had received an appointment until Early May. One of my classmates didn't find out 3 days before R-day

Thanks to everyone's info they have received and passed on to us. Our DD is nervous and we are having anxieties regarding our "Plan B" college deadlines arriving early April. We are keeping our fingers crossed and spirits up! Thanks again... a little news is better than none!

Those offered appointments by April 15th have until May 1st to accept or decline, so appointments that are declined make room for someone else!

No to be a downer here, but just putting things into a realistic perspective. Each year, at every SA, there are always many more appointments that are offered than positions in the class.
The SAs have the admissions process down to a statistical science and know that a certain % will choose to reject their offer for any number of reasons (multiple applications to SAs, choosing ROTC, selecting a civilian college, etc). It is my understanding that last year's class (14) came from the original appointment pool (400+ offers) and there were few, if none, selected from the wait list.
At this time of year it is always a good idea to have Plan B.
That being said, there have been cases in years past where offers have been made during the last few weeks before Swab summer...the waiting SA candidate must remain very flexible and optimistic.

As I recall from last year, my son was one of the last few remaining on the WL and did not hear a final verdict (negative) until into May.

admissions board dates

After reading the blogs I am wondering if anyone knows when the admissions board will meet. DS endured this waiting last year and was finally wait listed but ultimately did not receive an appointment. He is at college at one of the maritime academies but will be on a "summer" voyage beginning April 29. Certainly I know that the wait could be a positive. Is the college student viewed any differently regarding required summer courses that involve International travel which makes him difficult to access? An answer is needed sooon!!!

From what I read in recent posts, it looks like it may be around April 4.

Reading last years threads, it looks like the next two weeks (April 1-17) will be hopping with both excitement and frustration regarding what our DSs and DDs will be doing for the next 4 years!

Goodness-gracious! Lord help us all!! :eek3:

Mother just got two letters from the USCGA today; I have been conditionally accepted to the Class of 2015 and am now in the waiver process! Even if I don't get the waiver though, I am honored to even be considered to serve humanity in such a great capacity.

Best of luck to everyone, and know that there are more appointments coming in the mail.
