I havet received my BFE yet and my online status hasn't changed yet either... Have all the appointments been sent out yet?

Call your admissions counselor. Most have been getting the "qualified, but no vacancy" response AKA a TWE is coming. My counselor said almost all who are waiting now will be getting TWEs. You never know though. Leave them a message and they will get back to you as soon as possible.

my status is still Candidate and Complete.. and I actually called my counselor and they said they couldn't tell us anything, but I'll know any day now.. I'm thinking its possible that i didnt get the BFE yet because im in NY and snail mail may take an extra day or 2..

I'm in the same boat...I called my counselor and she said that the DQ'ed letters don't apply to me, and said that the qualified with no vacancy letters are going out and so are offers of appointments, I know a lot of people have been saying that they are done appointing people, but that was not the impression that I got at all...I really just want to know what is going on...I finally heard of one person from IL (that's where I'm at) getting an appointment today, but myself and a few other guys that are in IL still haven't heard anything, so hopefully I'll get mine in the next couple days?

All I know is at this point it's getting a bit depressing...

I agree I feel you. I'm reading alot of accounts of ppl getting appts and then hearing that they should've been received by now, so I'm planning ahead and outside USAFA for now because as of now, I have not received anything either. So I guess I can just hope for the Prep School maybe...

Well there are about 5 million different accounts and opinions of what is going on and at this point I'm utterly confused...

No BFE, no TWE, no status change online....plus, I call the USAFA counselor and she wouldn't give me any information. Why do some counselors give out info and some don't? I'll know soon enough, but still, it's a little frustrating!
Good luck to all still waiting

Honestly, if your status hasn't changed and you haven't received a BFE, you're probably qualified but no vacancy. My counselor told me this on Monday and my status hasn't changed at all online. And from every other post I'm reading, your status probably would have changed by now or you'd have received something. I could be wrong though.

Were any of the BFE's that have been given out already Presidential noms? My DS is on Spring Break in one location and we are in DC on business and he has 3 noms: Sen/Congress/Presidential and we haven't heard or received anything yet either. (our mailman has my cell number if/when he receives anything)

Same thing that I want to know...my counselor wouldn't tell me what my status was...

You both may have the same RD, and that maybe their personal position. Remember the way the system works, it is region and initial.

I remember back in 08 our DS had a different RD (counselor) than a good friend. Just happened to be his shared, and ours didn't. They both attended school in the same county, yet different last names.

If all is true, that everything went out on Friday, you should be seeing the last of the TWEs today or tomorrow (letters in envelopes traditionally travel faster than the BFE).

Also remember that the online portal is usually delayed so they can reduce the chance the candidate finds out on line.

If I am correct Falcon only got theirs changed this week, but they got the call a week before the BFE. Not every MOC calls. There is a lag time in the portal change.

We were told the BFE's and TWE's (not qualified) went out last Friday, and the TWE's that say (Qualified but no more slots available) went out yesterday. Of course, there are other things that could happen between now and June (Prep and Falcon letters, etc)

That is too funny! Wouldn't you love to be a mailman this time of year?

Momof5: How did you get all those nominations? Here in CA, once our Senators found out that my DS already had a MOC (Congressman) nom, they did not even want to interview him... The MOC rep even warned us that that was how it worked around here. They said they wanted to "spread the wealth" and an Applicant only needs one nom to qualify...

MikeR: My DS called his AFA Counselor yesterday and he got the same response, the counselor did not want to tell him the status but that he has to wait for it in the mail. Maybe some counselors are able to share (want to share) and others are not able to (or they refuse), depending on the region/director?

I was getting depressed a bit reading about all the stellar candidates who got TWEs... My heart goes out to all the candidates with TWEs and their families. But you know that you are all incredibly strong, intelligent, and talented and will be successful anywhere! Just a "bump in the road..." and you just take another route to get to your goals...:thumb:

I feel much better reading the other posts that indicated that there are a few appointments/BFEs still getting sent out, even though not in a big wave of letters...

So we continue to wait and pray here in sunny Southern California...

attybella,

Some MOCS talk, some don't. It is reflective of your state. In NC they don't talk, thus you can get every MOC. Right up the road in VA they talk and are like you where 1 MOC is the nom. In TX and NY they tell candidates to remove their names if they have a nom in hand, but many times candidates may get 2 due to the fact that it gets lost in the mix.

CA is probably the most competitive state. However, just because you can only get one in your state, doesn't mean that is true nationally. Ohio is like NC. They are not seen as a competitive state for noms. They may still have 150 applicants, but still that is not as competitive as CA where a Sen can have 3 or 4 times that many.

Nothing at our house either. DS does have the AFROTC 4 year scholarship plus 2 other scholarships that will cover his full tuition at Plan B so we are still very grateful. I expect the TWE with the he is qualified but no room letter within the next few days. He is not aware of the appointments and letters going out yet so he is sure to be let down. There is always next year!

attybella, even with the three noms, we still haven't heard or received anything. This waiting/not knowing anything is really tough! My DS is ready to go with plan B, and reapply if he doesn't get in this year, but we still have hope! I guess I didn't realize some states were limited on noms. Good luck to you in sunny California!

still waiting...

My DS has 3 nominations too: both Senators and the Congressman. We have heard nothing: no phone calls, no mail, no portal change. I'm not sure what to think??? He's reluctant to call his ALO....

I'm still holding out hope.
