Hey All, I'm getting ridiculously ancy over her in Jersey because I haven't received a TWE or BFE or anything yet. My friend received a TWE the other day but I'm still waiting..

So I decided to call my AF counselor to see if he could tell me anything and these were his words exactly "Letters are being sent out today (Thursday) on whether you will be coming here or not, so be sure to check your mail". Umm  What do you think this means? Why wouldn't he tell me straight up whether I'm accepted or not? Hoping it's a good sign...what do you think?

Matt, everytime someones talks to a counselor it seems there are new "mail" dates. Like they say often, a bulk of it went out, but they have rolling meetings with additional smaller numbers of decisions made-it is nothing that would be divulged publicly. It could mean everything, it could mean nothing. It could mean the letters sent out Tuesday actually go into mail today. So hard to figure out. The fact you have received nothing yet, leaves open the possibility of everything. I truly hope you get a big fat wonderful package! And if you don't, let yourself have one awful "I feel like cr-p" day, then come back to the forum and read what others are doing to move forward with Plan B.

It can't be said enough times. EACH APPLICATION IS UNIQUE AND INDIVIDUAL!!! Your chances of an appointment are ALSO UNIQUE. I know people want to be told "Where they stand". But it doesn't and can't work that way. What makes it more difficult, is that when a person declines an appointment, that too is unique. If a person who was offered an appointment using a MOC slot, presidential slot, etc... and they turn it down; the academy is going to go back to that slate first to make another offer. They aren't going to the national pool; even though those from the particular slate are in the national pool. In other words, you could be the #1 NON-Selectee from the National Pool; sitting in the #1 slot; and 20 people could be offered an appointment ahead of you because the vacant slots are in their districts, state, presidential slates, etc... And unfortunately, there is nothing that anyone here can do to help you know "Where you stand". A counselor can tell you one thing, that "Sort of" applies to YOU. Yes, another person can call the same counselor because their name is the same letter of the alphabet, and can be told something totally different because of their application, their ranking, and the vacancies that affect them.

Sorry that this is not an answer to many people's questions, but it's the way it is. There is no new WAVE of letters, appointments, etc... being sent out. From here on out, everything is pretty much on an individual basis. If you haven't received a TWE yet, then that's good. It means you are really close. What you're waiting on is for someone to turn down an appointment in your slate/category or for something to be worked out with qualification for someone in your slate/category. Does that mean you are getting an appointment? No. It simply means you still have a chance. Someone with a TWE mathematically has a chance still of an appointment, but I wouldn't count on it. Best of luck to all of you; and relax. There's nothing that you can do here to change the outcome. mike.....

If you haven't gotten a BFE by now most likely you are not getting one with a few exceptions. Bottom line, is you have to wait until the mail comes with your letter in it.

Do you have reason to believe the USAFA has more TWEs yet to mail than BFEs?

The vast majority of BFE's went out last week, the TWE's went out this week. You should have one in your mailbox by now. Hope you are the exception.

I too live in Jersey. I called my counselor yesterday and he gave me the exact same response that letters were being mailed today(Thursday) and I would have to keep checking the mail. Today I looked in my mailbox and a TWE was waiting for me. Don't get discouraged just yet though. At this point no news may be good news. Best of luck.
