Well I finished my preliminary application on April 1st! Last year I did a NASS application and we had to send transcripts. Do I need to send my transcript again with the preliminary app? The directions dont ask for it and I emailed usna but they were no help. They didn't answery question lo

if I do my prelimnary app, will it delete everything currently in my CIS? I Intend to reapply for next year, got my TWE saturday

You will have to wait for a candidate package which will contain a log in ID and password so that you can get onto the Candidate Information System. Once you have this, you will complete the application on line, including submitting a transcript. If you are applying as a college student, then you will need to provide a transcript of your grades from you first college semester.

I don't know if your new application wipes out your old application. The first number of your candidate number indicates the class year for which you are applying (5XXXXXX for 2015) so you will most likely have a new candidate number reflecting the new 2016 class year (6XXXXXX).

I'm sorry about your TWE nick, but I'm glad you reapplying! I made a group on fb called usna class of 2016 if you want to join!
Navy mom I'm just wondering if I need to send my transcript with my preliminary application to get a candidate number?

Heck yes! just submitted mine!

2015 may not want me , but 2016 sure will

I just looked at the online preliminary application. With that view and from what I recall of the process, I would say no, you don't need to provide a transcript as part of the preliminary application. USNA determines whether or not your should be made an official candidate based on the information you submit in the preliminary app. The NASS online application may require something different and I am not familiar with that process.

Haha you've gotta relax friend! Weve got plenty of time. I sent my prelim app today as well. Not sure whether or not I'd want to transfer from ROTC to usna but well see when the time comes.

I don't think it should take much more than a month though. I remember having my recs in by June last year.

I believe I read/heard that the Class of 2016 packages will start going out at some point in May.

Admissions is still sorting through the Class of 2015.

To those of you applying for the first time or re-applying, try to get your application complete by the end of August. This means making sure that you get your letters of recommendation from current teachers/professors before school ends this semester and having your interview with your BGO this summer. Having your application complete by end of summer gets it before the Board at their first sitting. You still need a nomination, but you may get lucky and receive an LOA if you have an outstanding application. Completing the app early also shows desire and committment.

What happens if we want college grades to go on it?

If I'm a senior who got the TWE this month, hould I use my high school teachers as my recommendations if I'm trying to get it done early?

Hi,

Your high school math and english teachers can complete the recommendations.

You can submit your final high school transcript but USNA will not consider your application final until you submit the transcript of the grades from your first college semester.

You should attend a four year college and take plebe year college classes (chemistry, calculus, literature, history)
