Just a quick survey:

If you went to SLS in 2010, which one of the following happened to you?

-No nomination
-Nominated, no appointment
-Nominated, appointment to USMAPS
-Nominated, no LOA, got an appointment
-Nominated, LOA, appointment

Can anyone explain why the stats for the poll show that almost everyone who went to SLS from here got an appointment when USMA reports that about half of those who go to SLS are eventually offered appointments?

Plan B

Your sample is incomplete. It does not include all those who went to SLS. Its my guess that those who were rejected no longer follow this forum as they are busy implimenting plan B.

% who follow this forum

Have you noticed that since March 1st there have only been a couple of appointments posted on the 2015 Appointments thread? My guess is that nearly all the appointments for 2015 are out and only only a small number of appointees are still following the forum. Less that 120 ever posted an appointment (out of approximately 1250 slots).

Prudent observations. How would you recommend I fix the survey to make the results more accurate?

Unless you have a way to personally contact 100% of those who went to SLS your sample will be biased by what ever selection process you try. Surveying this forum will be flawed. Why not take the USMA statement at face value?
