Is it absolutely mandatory to have the ACT company send official scores or are copies of the original score sheet acceptable?

It needs to come directly from the ACT company or Collegeboard

If for some reason you forgot to have it sent in from the ACT directly, and you don't feel like forking over the money to have it sent you can send the OFFICIAL score sheet directly to your councilor.

rayquad, are you all finished taking the ACT and/or SAT? I don't know your scores, but since you are a junior applying for class of 2016, you could still take them again to improve if need be--academics (including test scores) make up 60% of your WCS I believe. Just make the AFA one of the 4 colleges to receive your scores--that is included in the cost of the test. Is there a reason you don't want the Collegeboard to send your scores? The AFA will superscore, meaning they will take the best scores from however many times you take the test. My son's counselor said he could not send any score sheets (original or copies)--either they had to be sent directly or scores listed individually on his official HS transcript (not just the composite--each subject area had to be shown). And again, he couldn't send the official HS transcript, had to come from the school. Do the AFA counselors handle things differently? It may be a good idea to check with yours before doing anything.

So you only need to send scores once to your councilor, and you can have him send scores to other colleges, saving money? I hope so lol

I've never heard of this. It's always been Your scores have to be sent directly from ACT or The Collegeboard. The best thing to do is to just send the scores when you take the test. If that's not an option, just send the scores early enough to where you do not have to pay for the rushed shipping.
