Now that I am a member of the class of 2015, as well as the military, do I have to renew my passport or will I get some sort of military passport? My civilian one expires in November and if I plan to travel outside of the country, will a military passport suffice or will I in fact need a new "blue passport"?

Many times your orders and mil ID will be sufficient. Having a standard passport is good as well. Don't get anything military related for that.

An "official" US Passport is issued to many military members. And it is for "official US Government" travel ONLY.

Do NOT get caught using it for personal travel.

It's ALWAYS a great idea to have your own "tourist" passport; especially in the military. Who knows when "wanderlust" will strike and a bird with "Space A" slots is available???

My experience on AD was that the official passport was issued to us because the host nation, we were deployed to, required it under the Status of Forces agreement.

It was equally important NOT to get caught uisng the personal passport on duty travel.

Alright so basically if I want to travel for personal reasons, not military related, I am going to have to use my "tourist" passport, correct?
