For those who have received the first BFE, I called the Academy regarding our second BFE, and apparently the board hasn't decided when to send it out yet. So just an FYI.

By the way, historically how late do they send the second BFE to college appointees?

That's weird. I just received my second BFE yesterday and I got my first BFE around the same time that everyone else did.

That's strange! I was wondering about that as well since I received the first BFE December. I hope the lady just got it mixed up.

I have seriously been going to the mailbox everyday since January. It's depressing! :yllol:

I can imagine! I'm sure your BFE is on its way to your house/dorm? right now! :)

Just trying to help. Did you confirm they have received your response to the first bfe?

Well my online portal changed to "Appointment Accepted".

2nd BFE

Thanks for the FYI, DS mailed his acceptance March 1st and we've heard nothing. Keep reading about immunizations and such and wondering when they will let us have the rest of the info (sure doesn't make sense, its not like they shouldn't have the same info ready to mail to everybody!). He will be traveling alot in May and I'm worried something will come in the 2nd BFE that we need to take care of.

For those who haven't received the second BFE, I would definitely call your admissions counselor if you haven't already. There is a ton of paperwork to complete--sizing for uniforms and boots (they want you professionally measured), immunizations and a TB test, life insurance info to complete, sponsor family signups, an online security clearance, alumni assoc info, and probably more that I'm forgetting. Individually, none of them are overwhelming, but considering that all of us have busy lives with school, jobs, activities, etc. outside of this process, its just one more thing to get done. Its possible that an envelope got lost in the mail and another will need to be sent.

2nd BFE

My son also has not received his 2nd BFE. We are located in PA. Thank you for the advice to have him call the counselor.

After gathering more info from other college appointees it seems like the Academy is being flexible. For the most part, the Academy would like a copy of the final transcript before sending out the second BFE, BUT for schools like University of Washington for example, we are in a quarter system which ends June 15, realistically being too late for them to send the BFE and do all the paperwork.

So my counselor said that the Academy might require a sort of "midterm" grade from my professors. For everyone else, call and clarify with your counselors to clear up the issue!

UPDATE

I called admissions again, and I found out that they will be sending the second BFE to college appointees during the first~second week of May!

BUT, remember to still send in final transcripts whenever it becomes available! :thumb:

Aaaa! Needed the reminder to send final transcripts--and, not expecting any problems here, but when they say it's conditional...do grades just have to be above a C, or what's the deal here...(just got an e-mail about my psych grade...I need a 100 on the final to get an A :( I can bust my butt for this test, but even then...a 100? it's a tough class)

I asked several months ago and although they never gave me a straight numerical answer, my counselor said "do your best and maintain the best effort". And since we are in college, our grades will naturally be lower than our HS counterparts.
