Hey Everybody!
My son wants to attend the USNA and my wife and I are all for it. He is a recruited athlete (swimmer) who is about to finish up his junior year in high school. We got a letter from the swim coach last fall and spent 2 days in Annapolis as part of a college visit tour last month.
I know getting a nomination/appointment is terribly competitive. While I think he may be fairly OK on most of the "whole person" thing, I have one concern... his driving. He was at fault in an accident last year (at age 16) in which no one was hurt. He, unfortunately, was also at fault in another accident (no injury... basically a fender bender) earlier this month.
The accidents are on his record but nothing else... no moving violations at all. These two blemishes are the only negatives on his resume. Never any trouble at school or anywhere else.
Are we doomed or are these incidents "non-issues"?
Thanks!
