Our son just completed his online initial entry form for this fall's JCAP at Texas A&M in September. Anyone else on this board have a son or daughter planning to attend?

We are very excited!

Maybe. We are waiting to see when the Spend the Night dates are as well to see what dates work best for us. JCAP looks like a good event.

My son's almost through his fish year now, but I just wanted to say have fun!

I went to JCAP last year and it was an outstanding program. I will be attending A&M in the fall now. What outfit is he staying with?

He chose the K-2 Killers. His preference is Navy/Marine and he believes he will choose an engineering major (although he is just a Sophomore in HS right now, so could change), thus there are several units he'd like to check out.

Any thoughts on that topic too?

N-1 Knights is a great Navy/Marine Outfit. They consistently place top 3 for major flag awards each year. It's a coed outfit though, and I know some guys think it's better to be in an all-male outfit.

There is a new commandant at A&M who is implementing quite a few changes. One of them is to integrate all the outfits so there will be no more all-male outfits. Probably will take a couple years to fully implement.

My son submitted the application last night. He requested Squadron 16 "Falcons".
