Afternoon All--

So I received an e-mail from USAFA regarding this data collection and I am working on my release information form. The last page regards Congressional Information Release....What exactly gets released to my congressmen? Why do they need this info?

They probably want to be able to release information to your MOC in case they want to do a press release about you from their congressional office. Also, they would need to inform the MOC if you left the Academy, in order for them to be able to use the opening again in the next nomination cycle.

Also, if your appointing Congress person or Senator or a member of their staff visits the Academy while you are a cadet -- you may be invited to have lunch, meet with them, etc. My daughter has been invited to lunch twice with reprepsentatives of the office of the (then) Congressman (now Senator) who appointed her.
