In response to this news we stormed into T-Court and started singing patriotic songs culminating in the National Anthem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oX826UOZ2Ns

We then ran to the Supe's House and the Dant's House: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FTbVaPZNzA&feature=player_embedded

This riot continued until around 0130 or so, apparently a lot of people ran out Gate 1 into DTA. A fair number of plebe also climbed Herdon...so I guess were not plebes anymore.

This is a motivational Marine Corps speech unrealated to the happenings, but still awesome. (Explicit Language Warning) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxYucS88cxA

When my plebe wrote the description of what happened....I thought he was joking!! Guess not!!!!

Great job navy seals!

The civilized world extends its heartfelt gratitude -

Yeah, I was thrilled when you guys climbed Herndon. Nothing like being woken up at 2 AM by plebes busting down my door and screaming "PLEBES NO MORE!"

mademu,

Hah....are they doing the 30 day-company countdown too?

I remember one company's contribution was when they switched up the parade company turning plates and all the companies were lined up out-of-order...and one company didn't have room on the parade field, so they marched back to Bancroft. The Alumni in stands were laughing their behinds off. There was mass confusion!

I haven't heard anything on it. If they are doing anything, it hasn't been notable yet.

Really? You missed the sailboats in King Hall?

(Not my plebes, but I was proud of them, whoever it was.)

On a more serious note, Class of 2014 got to celebrate the demise of bin Laden, but I can't help but think back on Class of 2005 and the feelings on Sept. 11th of their Plebe Year. Must have been a tough few days for them and first-time Plebe parents (or any service academy parent) worrying about what might be coming next. The terror associated with the events of Sept. 11, 2001 was certainly far-reaching, and the patriotism we all feel now is the other side of that coin.
