I picked my son up at school this weekend and had the chance to talk with the PMS and ROO. My younger son will be starting there next year as well and we were discussing the class size for next year.
They were both lamenting over the process this year. Last year they had 8 Scholarship Cadets, this year they were given 3, only 2 accepted to the school. They do not anticipate anymore or do they think they will have funds for campus scholarships, their comment was the CC was still sorting out all the budget issues.
The interesting part of the conversation was in regard to the National Guard. They both told me that the Guard had put a moratorium on SMP for the beginning of the year due to the fact that they were full per the current recruiting levels. They said that they have students that have signed up for the ROTC program that were looking towards the NG or campus scholarship money that will now have to find other ways to finance college while waithing for everything to sort out.
Has anyone else heard of NG Moratoriums in their states, my son is attending school in Idaho, we live in Washington.
