Sea Trials is Tuesday. Last year, there were fabulous photos all day on the USNA Facebook page. They posted 70-90 photos every hour.......so, be watching if you can!

Thanks for the tip, jennyp! Only days left of Plebe year, and excitement is in the air!!! :thumb:

Offshore Sailing Team plebes return from the Delmarva race on Monday.

They start around 4AM, don't they? It's like the royal wedding! We can get up and stare at facebook waiting for pics. HA! I can't believe they are almost done. This time last year I had the mental bubble wrap going 24/7. I remember walking through DTA the night before I-Day and my son tripped up (flip-flop on brick sidewalk) and I about fainted.

I wore a red, white and blue ribbon last year to I-Day and it proved useful as I was able to meet some forum friends there. We should wear them again!

See you at Herndon!

Yes we did NNM!!!!!! Can't believe it's here ---do we need to get the bubble wrap back out? It's been a ride---but well worth it! See you at Herndon we r meeting up somewhere to get pics! Will message you later! Go class of 2014! Still looking for my red white and blue ribbon----where did i put that thing-------

How many of you got a text message from your plebe saying they needed to know their blood type ASAP? I found that a little ominous! :shake:

I've talked to several moms who got the same text message or call today. One of the plebes told their mom that they needed it for Sea Trials in case they "bled out". I told my son I couldn't remember what his blood type was but could look for it. He told me not to worry about it as he didn't think it was all that important.

I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling that this is a way for the upperclassmen to "scare" the plebes (and the parents ) one more time! Bottom line if they really needed a blood transfusion any hospital is going to do a type and cross before any blood is transfused. Plus didn't they have it checked when they had their blood work done for their DoDMerb physical and also on IDay?

BHM: Save the bubble wrap to pack his stuff up to take it home for the summer! :thumb:

I got the text message for blood type also. Felt like a terrible mom that I didn't know what it was....and I tore through every medical record we had with no luck.

Hopefully it was another 'scare tactic'... but do they have to 'scare' the parents?!:biggrin:

I got the blood type call too, and also didn't know it...I told him not to worry, they could give him O+ if he was bleeding out...lol

It is O- for universal doner. I know since I was on call for all donations and gave on a few occasions. If you "Bleed Out" you are dead. Sounds like a scam post! Believe me they know what blood type they all have. Used to be imprinted on your Dog Tags? Nice pictures of Sea Trials.

Our plebe said the blood type question was just part of some "safety BS" (his words!) that everybody had to fill out before Sea Trials. No biggie. :thumb:

I thought maybe it was my son asking me so I would "appreciate" how tough sea trails were going to be. I'm pretty sure he knows his blood type is AB-...Anyway, I'm also sure it was a "scare tactic" or "some safety bs" because the Navy has that info on record. And, yes, it is on my enlisted son's dogtags, as is his medication allergy info. Do MIDN even have dogtags? I've never seen my younger (Plebe) son with his and have never seen my older (Petty Officer) son without.

BTW, B-Z 12th Company!!!! Way to go, Son! :thumb:

It was great to see the Sea Trial photos and video links on Facebook. There were also 3000 photos taken by a parent of prior USNA grads. Took awhile to go through them all :thumb: but I was able to find over 40 of DS's Company!

mumsyto3 do you have a link to the 4000 pics? or was that also on facebook???

Mumsy...could you send me a PM, too? I couldn't find my kid in any of the FB photos. Anyone know if there are more pics anywhere else? I just HAVE to see him all muddy! He was the kid who wouldn't play with play-doh when he was little because it made his hands dirty! :yllol:

Mom you are correct. I don't ever remember my Mid having "Dog Tags" Never thought of that before.
