I wear contacts all the time and I've worn them in all my sports and activities in high school. It seems that I am required to get a pair of the military glasses at West Point but I was wondering if I have the choice to wear my contacts instead during CBT? I'm guessing I have to wear the glasses for some reason, but what about after CBT…can I wear my contacts for the academic year?

You will be issued those very attractive BCG's (aka Birth Control Glasses) for wear during Beast for safety reasons. No contacts. During the academic year you can wear your regular glasses or contacts or your BCG's if your so inclined!

i believe you have to wear the BCGs during Beast. After Beast you can wear whatever you want.

Since my contact supply ran out, this question came into mind.

How would we get contacts during the academic year? Is there an on-campus optometrist or such where we can buy contact lenses?

You have to wear the BCGs.

The only exception is if they don't have the right lenses for your BCGs. In that case you can either wear civilian glasses (you must if you have them) or contacts (if that's all you have).

ON the day of the gas chamber your cadre will/should make sure that no one is wearing contacts.

There is an optometrist on post.

What if you wear contacts for sports? do they store them and then let you get them everyday before practice or do you keep them with you?

As others have pointed out, during beast you will wear BCG's. Now after best most cadets, having fallen in love with them, continue to wear BCG's, foresaking contact lenses, and other trappings.
The only downside to wearing BCG's after beast is that in the event that you go to zoo or travel to Madagascar, the Lemurs will try to chat you up.:shake:
