I am currently a sophomore in High School, and going to the USAFA became a dream of mine at the beginning of my sophomore year. I have researched the academy in depth and I know what the Academy says they require, but I wanna hear from the people who have actually attended the Academy.

What I am asking for are some student profiles almost (what you did in high school as far as academics, GPA, Class rank, sports, and extracurriculars.) The purpose of this is so that I have a standard and a good idea of what I need to achieve in the next year or so.

I'm basically asking you brag about how you got into USAFA.:biggrin:

Any Airman's input is greatly appreciated. (But please keep it productive)
 
If you use the search function, you will be able to find quite a bit of what you're looking for in previous threads without having to wait for other people to post up again. There are also similar threads in the other academy forum areas which will come up in searches you do which will help give you a good general picture as well.
 
Here is the typical profile of the incoming classes at the academy. This comes directly from the air force academy. These are not the minimums; but rather the actual scores/stats of the cadets at the academy. If you click on the link under my signature at the bottom of this post, you can see the entire 2010-2011 academy brochure.

Valedictorian/Salutatorian. 9%
President/Vice President of Class or Student Body. . . .15%
Top 10% of High School Class. 51%
Athletic Letter Award. 83%
Boys/Girls State or Nation. 12%
National Honor Society. 65%
Boy/Girl Scouting (Includes Eagle Scouts). 28%
