Best company?

I was just wondering if their is a dominant usna company that wins the color competition every year?

Nobody is dominate but 26th has won it 2 out of the last 4 semisters. Overall it's not that big a deal unless you are a Firsty. You get a guaranteed parking spot that semister. Other than that it sounds good.

Most imprtantly, as future Plebe you have zero control over which company you get put into so it's a total crap shoot.

My son was placed in Color Company as a plebe. It turned out to be a good thing. It was good for us, the parents. He was guidon, so anytime someone took pictures of parades and formations, we were able to spot our Waldo. At Army/Navy game, they lined the field for the President as he changed from Army side to Navy side. I'm sure the Company Commander thought it was a big deal to meet the President. Our mid was also granted a pre-approved overnight in Philly after the game. When they won Color company again, they were supposed to represent USNA at President Obama's inauguration. That ended up changing and they took mids from each company. Upon hearing about the long wait in the cold, my mid was glad he got taken of the detail.
We always thought it was great that his company won color company, but he kept telling us that it was no big deal.

Like the color parades, this is nice for parental egoes (as usna2012mom notes well), and seems to mean diddly among the Mids (barring the parking privilege). In any case, beyond curing curiosity, not a topic worth investing much therein. Makes for nice military interlude @ those parades the Mids also seem to despise.
P.S. Despite these truths, there is a very specific answer to the BEST COMPANY. The one your MID's in!
