Any ideas what the truth is in this story?

There is always two sides to every story.

The video shows King weaving and even staggering, consistent with too much alcohol. However, that in itself doesn't merit getting the crap beat out of them. However, it might merit dismissal from WP.

This is disturbing, especially if you see the video...any idea what's really the truth?

From my understanding, it seems to be true. So close to graduation too...

It's really one of those things that hits home, especially since I knew the guy. While I won't go into detail, this incident was not the sole cause of his separation. Just wanted to throw that out there before people post angry posts about a cadet being separated for being a victim.

Let this be a lesson for everyone: not matter how close you get, always do the right thing. It's usually on the final stretch that people let their guard down.

As soon as two people disagree down there, the mod lock the thread. Up here is much more mature and productive.

Thanks...guess I didn't look very hard to see if this was already a thread.

Someone just pointed out to me that there are two videos, one commencing 30 seconds or so before the other and showing King arriving at the pickup area. This is the longer version:

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/patti-labelle-accused-of-ordering-attack-at-airport-20110603

Note at the very beginning, he comes around the rear of the bus, makes a couple of major course corrections, and then walks down the vehicle roadway to the front of the bus, when he then makes several more course corrections before arriving at the bottom of the screen where the other video commences. Also, as he approaches the directional arrow in the middle of the roadway, he appears to stagger. Difficult to say for sure due to the quality of the video but he is the only one weaving as much as he is and the only one walking down the middle of the road with his back to traffic, never once looking back. And I cannot begin to speculate on the wild hand gestures as if he were directing the skycaps.

Again, if my speculations are correct, no reason to get beat up, but definitely, in light of possible other instances, cause to doubt his ability to become an officer. Just perhaps WP knew what they were doing.

I don't think they had a right to beat him up. I wish him luck in court and I hope he doesn't get separated for what some crappy bodyguards did...
