Well, its now that time of year where 2015 is about to head out to I-Day and BCT. Its been one heck of a ride since that time last year when I first picked up the AFA application. I just wanted to thank the posters on this forum for all the help and insight. This place is absolutely great and I am glad to have discovered it early on and used it to guide me throughout the process.

If I could offer advice to the many eager applicants out there who are reading these posts here is what it would be:

1) Get it started early and get it done early. This will make your life much easier later one when you have to complete multiple steps according to the many deadlines out there. Time management is key and will lead to much easier and rewarding months.

2) Keep your head up throughout the process and keep your eyes on the goal. The application is long and hard but it is worth it in the end.

3) Put out 110% effort into everything you do. Don't do this for your parents or your friends, do it for yourself because YOU want it and YOU have that desire in you to serve as a commissioned officer

4) Listen to all the advice you receive from your parents, ALOs and mentors. Take everything with a few grains of salt and use your best judgement in the decisions you make.

5) Lastly, if you don't make it in the first time, know that there are countless other avenues and sources for you to get your chance to serve. Keep this in mind and I am sure success will come to you one day.

Best of luck to all the future applicants and I thank you for taking this on and having the desire to give back to your country.

To all my fellow 2015 appointees, enjoy these last few days as we prepare to embark on the journey of a lifetime. Great opportunities and experiences await each and every one of us.

A final thank you to all those on this forum for your time and efforts and all the help you gave me in coming a long way to this point. Hope to keep in touch with you all in the future!

Sincerely,
Abe

Good luck at BCT, be sure to let us know how things are once the school year starts. :thumb:

Just a little under 3 weeks left...

Seems like yesterday I was talking about how I only had 6 months left.

Goodluck, hope to see some of you entering my summer flight.

Sincerely,

Your Executioners A flight commander

you will all be seeing me.. i'll be a red-roper (stan/eval) be sure to say hey!

As for me, this will probably be my last post, I will try to get on every once in a while and help others that need help. As thunderbird12 said, thank you everyone on this forum with all the insight. Without everyone here, I would not be in the position that I'am in today. This site definitely helped me out through this whole process. I would just like to tell everyone, to listen to what everyone has to say, because it really does help.

I'll definitely have another post before BCT, but once I enter USAFA, I'll try my best to help out on the forums

Hey....team....

Once you complete BCT, are in your squadron, and are "in place..."

You are to sign on here and give us a report!

Consider that an...well....

Let's just say you're soon to be a "cadet" and I'm one of those officers (grade and seniority) that you will/would "snap your spine in half to impress me." :rant2:

Arrogant, aren't I?

We have all worked with you and followed you...and now its your turn to return the favor: let us know how it is, how you like it, what you think, etc.

And realize...there are students here that are about to start what you just went through...YOU are the BEST voices they can hear from!!!
