Updating SAT/ACT scores

I just got my new SAT scores, and they were much better than on my first attempt. I' m still waiting on my new ACT scores which should come out Sunday or Monday.

I know that I am able to update the scores, and arranged to have my SAT scores sent to Cadet Command by College Board. As far as updating them, though, do I go back to my application page and enter my new SAT scores and then scan and email them to make sure they are accurate? How do I know if the new SAT scores have been updated on my application?

I think the best that you can do is when you email the scores in (I would wait and only send the higher of the SAT or ACT), request that CC confirm the receipt of the score. Remember to clearly identify yourself in your email (if you don't have CC's instructions on identifying yourself, include the last 4 of your SSN in addition to your name). CC will acknowledge the recipt of materials.

As to the question of when they get applied to your application, that may take a little time (although during the summer it may be quicker). I would wait a month and ask a ROO to look at your file. They should be able to see your scores (although you might want to confirm this with Clarkson).

One last thing to remember, there is a certain SAT/ACT score beyond which you don't get any more points on your ROTC application. I don't know what your scores are, but you might check with gojack as to how the AROTC application is scored in the scholar section. I think he has posted it somewhere before...

The ACT can count twice; On the PMS interview a 3.0+GPA and a SAT/ACT 1100/24 is good for 20 points in the scholar section. Link
In addition ACT/SAT is 25% of your total 1000 point Whole Person score;
Each student can achieve 1000 Whole Person points during the entire scholarship evaluation process.
Your 1000 point Whole Person score is a merit based score made up of;
200 points from your PMS interview
250 points for your ACT/SAT score (how this is calculated I don't know, it works out to 17 points per point on the ACT, 19min-36max but may be tiered or something)
200 points for your S.A.L. evaluation based upon your scholastic, athletic,and leadership achievements
350 points are determined by the board of officers

The 350 board points seems like the biggest mystery of all. Given what the board's working with, I wonder if it largely counts the other elements one more time. Plus some points for the personal statement?

I did some digging and found a very out of date Army Reg that covered
a PMS board. I am sure the specifics have changed, but the basics may be similar, its also kind of what I had envisioned.

-Establish a base line score for the 'average' candidate
-Each board member adds or subtracts points on each candidate, as they view that candidate.
-Discussions between board members are allowed, but should be kept to a minimum.

So probably all the PMS's are independently scoring every candidate, no set guidelines, based on their experience and knowledge. PMS scores are added up on each candidate, that score (35% of total) added to other scores to form the OML.
