After a cadet earns and is awarded his "parachute badge", what are his options to continue with parachuting at the academy?

I realize that a qualified cadet must jump if competing for the "Wings of Green" program, etc. Can a cadet jump, however, if he is not competing for any program? In other words, because he is now qualified and because he would simply like to?"
 
nope... only way that a cadet gets to jump at the academy is through AM490 (The basic freefall course) or being selected for Wings of Green and subsequently the Wings of Blue parachute team..

Many cadets that don't become PTWOBs (and even some that do) find several of the local and Denver-based parachuting clubs to join. I knew many fellow cadet who were jumping afterwards through external programs.
 
There is a lot of weekend traffic up to Longmont where cadets can build upon their first 5 jumps and complete AFF (accelerated free fall). I can't recall if that is 20 or 25 jumps.

My son also took his roommate to Eloy, AZ to jump the week before Christmas, and the roommate was able to complete AFF and now has his own civilian gear.

Our son, a PTWOB, completed 554 jumps - which is about average.
 
what is PTWOB? and does anyone know if you can become certified with jumps that come from different dropzones. Right now i have 2 tandem jumps at one dropzone. do i have to stay committed to that same dropzone or can i transfer my jumps?
 
(from my knowledge), as far as getting your private jump license, training is transferable as long as it meets the required time periods. If you're asking about counting toward your jump wings, first tandem jumps don't count (it's all free-fall at USAFA, or static line down Ft. Benning), and for the jump wings, all jumps must be made with the military.

Some of us didn't have the GPA "waaaaay back when..." it was required to be in the 3.00 range or better...

Afterwards...we became drop zone maniacs!!!

Until one day we were stupid...and rode our reserve because we were stupid. Then we sold our rig and said "NO MORE!"

And now several decades later...
