Hello,
I just got my ACT score back online. My composite is a 24. Here is the breakdown of everything else. mind you, I took this exam without ever preparing for it or looking over the prep books at all.
english- 26
math- 23
reading- 26
science- 21
combined english/writing- 28
essay- 11 out of 12.

I understand that my scores will not be competitive for USMA/ USNA but i really only took the test because I wanted to see where I stood without preparing for it. I currently have a 1870 on my SAT but I really enjoyed taking the ACT- not that many sections and it didnt seem as "complicated". Should I still submit this test into my application? Also, am I allowed to "superscore" my ACT for each section?
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated :)

id say your sats are better.

Dude, dont say your not competitive because it IS possible to be appointed with an 1870.

All depends on your district bro.

He meant his ACT scores are better.

Nam, when did your writing scores came out? I don't have the writing section first.

Does anyone know what is considered a competitive ACT score for USMA? I was hoping for a more accurate representation than the Class Profiles, which generalizes the scores.

30s are competitive. With the Math and English section carrying the most weight

Math 28 english 27. I am going to college next year so should I even take it again?

As long as the scores are above 28 on average, it'll be in the "safe" zone. My goal is a 32 but ill be satisfied with a 28 composite hahaha

Well I think im going to take it again because I feel like it can only make my file stronger. When I took it I never studied or prepared for it but this time will be different!

BTW... how do you know it is Math and English and not Math and Reading that weight the most?

Because this is my second time applying. But in truth it is a purely educational guess based on things that occurred last year

Oh okay! I thought I had seen somewhere about it being Math and Reading. I'm glad it's English haha!

Salt, if you need any help (at all), let me know and I'll try to assist you (such as doubts on the ACT English or Math portions).

Good luck... Hopefully I'll see you during Beast!
