Sorry for hijacking old thread earlier. Allie Rush and I have started a self-prep group on Facebook for Marion Military Academy. We wanted to be able to connect with others going the self prep route. We are actually adding folks prepping at other academies or schools as well to reach out and work together next year. Good response so far.

Attention to detail... Marion Military Institute

Soldier Allmylife,

No excuses for the mistake but I will take most of the blame. My son has never used forums and I was showing him how. I actually typed this section out showing him how to post to forums. To be honest we both missed it in proofreading and I posted it in another section. Thank you for pointing this mistake. Please accept my deepest apologies as Marion Military Institute has a distinct honorable history and graduates should be extremely proud.

Thank you for your service, esprit de corps, Hoorah!

Sir,

I hope you or your son did not take my comment as negative. I am a Company Executive Officer at MMI and just want to remind attention to detail to him before we see him next month. We all make mistakes it is part of life.

P.S. If he wants to be ahead of everyone else I suggest he starts getting familiar with the cadet manual. I wish I would have when I came in last semester.

This is the 2010-2011 version but the knowledge he needs to learn is unchanged.

If you or your son have any questions feel free to shoot me a message.

allmylife- Have a "mom" question for you... My DS will be attending MMI in the SAP program. I know they are reporting on Tuesday Aug 9. If you would give me an idea as to what they will be doing the week before classes start that would be great.

Thank you in advance:)

Ma'am,

Pretty much what you would expect from a military school.
Issue of uniforms, teaching them how to march and function in the corps of cadets, team building exercises, briefings, learning school traditions.

That is all I am gonna get into about it though, gotta have some surprises.

Thank you very much! That is what I thought, just wanted to make sure. He is looking forward to attending MMI.
