Hello. I'm currently confused with this portion of my file. Do they have to be junior teachers or can they be any teacher from all three years? Thank you.

I used two freshman teachers and a junior teacher. Everything has seemed to work out fine for me so far.

You may contact any High School teacher to fill in the SOE (as in, it can be a Math, English or Physics/Chemistry teacher from any High School year).

Hopefully goes without saying, but if possible you need to select a teacher that knows you well and ideally has a favorable opinion, etc.

Sometimes you have no choice, but even then teachers usually do the right thing. My son had to have one done by a teacher he felt did not like him, and it turned out she had respect for him and did a great eval.

Some of the nom applications and civvy schools do specify a junior year math teacher, or similar, and you just have to go with it.

hawk, if you dont mind me asking, how did you know that your son received a favorable SOE?
I don't think my Chemistry teacher liked me and I fear that he gave me a bad SOE..

You most likely won't find out on the SOE, but for other responses sometimes you do see. (MOC, etc). Same for civvy colleges on the common app.

Once you get into the post appointment phases we found that some of the ones you thought were not advocates turn out to have been completely supportive.

Our read was you just had to take the chance, and it turned out fine. If the alternative is not answering it's hobson's choice.
