Since the vice-president only requires you to fill out an application, does he get the rest of your info from your candidate file?? How does get it?

Yes.

And the candidate nominated by the VP always gets an appointment, too.

In reality, the VP "nomination" should be changed to the VP "appointment."

In essence , you'd have to have your info complete with the academy to recieve a vp nomination??

Yes.

The VP Nom is like this: Academy wants a candidate, but that candidate does not have a nom. Give me a VP nom! That's why Luigi called it "VP 'Appointment'". It's because only someone who will get in (but couldn't get nomination from other sources) gets it.
 
Error message when submitting VP NOM application

My son submitted the VP application 3 times and received an error occurred message 3 times. There was no indication of what the error was and nothing could be detected. The next day, my son received 3 emails basically saying, Thank you for your application for a VP nom. How can he confirm that the application is complete?
 
Since there is no info listed to call a liaison in the VP's office, I would call your son's counselor at the service academy he is applying for. I don't know if they get automatic/daily updates to a list of who has applied for a VP nomination, but hopefully he/she could at least let you know if or when they'll find out if your son is on the list.

my DD received a confirmation letter last week from the SA that they were notified of her VP request.
 
VP Nomination Question

DS has applied to USAF, USMA, and USNA and is nearly to completely complete on his file with each. Questions: He has applied for VP nomination...how does he know for sure that the SAs have been made aware of his VP nomination request and does he need to obtain letters of recommendation for this, other than the three teacher evaluations? Do the SAs accept other recommendations beyond the three teacher evaluations???
