Just announced your DS's university as number one party school in the nation.
Good thing he knows which side his bread is buttered on. Or as I tell my DS I'll sit on you and then you'll be dead so only good choices.
Yes, saw that OU has been bumped up to #1 this year (#2 last year). While at orientation one of the deans addressed this great poll and OU's continued sucess
. Basically, the poll is student reports - so yes, not scientific but Halloween weekend apparently is a big hit, the City of Athens, not the school, sponsors this HUGE street party and when the stats are looked at, 90% or so of the arrests/problems are townies, other college kids in for the party and PARENTS.
So, actually, when reading/hearing the alcohol policy for the school (1 strike, $250 fine, probation, community service for 9months, second strike - gone.) Oh, and DS has to take 2 hour online alcohol awareness program before arriving in the fall. That and then there is the AROTC cadre to deal with....I'm not too worried about DS - he won't be on campus for Halloween, imagine this, the National Guard has drill that weekend
I'm actually most nervous about the physical aspect of Hell Week lol. I know a lot of people at the school already. And my PT was good for a while, but I took like a three day break, and now my run SUCKS. But I think it's just temporary.
Oh, and I'm also nervous about getting a crappy roommate, but I will make it work regardless.
Crappy roomates are a problem...my older DD had 3 roommates first semester freshman year - finally got a good one and has roomed with her ever since. Hope your school allows for some switching if needed. I know Hell week should be a clue, but I can't place the school - yep, I'm such a mom
If PT was good and a small break thru you off, you obviously know what to do to get back on track. DS's run was poor(compared to previous)so he also has a lot of room for points there. Glad you have a handle on what is making you nervous, so you can use it to fix the problems!
