Does anyone know what "restricted" means at the USAFA? Apparently the entire class of 2015 is restricted for 3 weeks because of a prank a few guys played on the class of 2012.

It means that they can't leave for three weeks after Parent's Weekend. They should't be surprised that they are restricted though, they knew they were not supposed to touch the class crest.

The last we had heard, we would be restricted starting after Parent's weekend if we didn't give it back since we are already restricted as it is until Parent's weekend. I must say it was funny running the strips to formation this morning and seeing a blank spot in the center of the wall. As was said though, chapel wall and the class crests are usually off limits.

That isn't true, the group 4 training officer sent out an e-mail and made a threat. Maybe its parcially for group 4, but not all of class of 2015. And yes 2 guys decided to take class of 2012's crest. But they got it back.

I'm in group 3, and we haven't heard a thing about being restricted. I think it's a group four thing, at least as of right now. The word is the people who did it got caught and beat pretty hard for it, so punishments have been handed out.

Oh the Class Crests. 2012 took 2009's for several months, 2013 took ours (2010's), we had taken 2007's, it happens all the time. The funniest was probably 2009, who took 2006's crest to the top of Eagle's Peak and (the Class of 2006's Motto was "Feel the Fire") lit the crest on fire. Yes, they had to pay for a new one, but still entertaining.

I wouldn't worry about it. If you get restricted, such is the life of a four degree. We once had to sit 30 confinements for "sucking at life". While you're restricted, just take the time to bond with classmates, and find ways to make your own fun. Trust me, you'll make some of the greatest memories that way ;)

Group 4 was never told that they were restricted. Group 2 was, but apparently their group staff told them it was our entire class. But it's all unclear.

I don't even know where this rumor came from. I heard it yesterday, and it seems to be bouncing on to every group that the speaker is not part of. Fourth Group is not restricted, and the e-mail that we recieved was not about the crest.
