A Game of Honor Preview -- Upcoming Army-Navy Docu-drama

Looks good!

Man, music sure makes the academy thing much more exciting.

Wish my life had a soundtrack. Wouldn't that be somethin'?!

That's really cool. I really love how it incorporated the Academy life into it.

I think having play-by-play commentary about my life would be interesting, haha.

It's a pretty cool trailer. They showed it in the mess hall last week and everyone was pretty stoked. It's pretty cool to know about half of the plebes (then new cadets) they had footage of.

I remember how excited squids were for the opening of the movie Annapolis! Haha. All went out to catch that one. They couldn't live that down.

I just can't figure out if this is only on Showtime or if CBS will have part of it too.

A game of honoe preview....

This just goes to show that all SA'S are the best and brightest in the greatest country in the world, the United States of America.

God Bless to all of you,

RGK

I just wish that we got more recognition like Army and Navy do. It's really too bad that we're not a household name.

Are you kidding? Maybe this will make you rethink things:

Looks like a HECK of a lot more EXCITING than sitting around playing spades on an ammo box in Germany waiting for something -- SOMETHING -- to happen. The grass is rarely greener in the neighbor's yard. :thumb:

I know what he's saying. Generally both USCGA and USMMA are overlooked. I would assume USAFA would like in on the Army Navy action. They've fielded a good team over the years (and an even better hockey team), but of course don't have the historic rivalry.

Being in the fleet with some shipmates helps with those feelings a bit.

I smile when I look at my 1908 Tide Rips. The service, and the academy have a history, it's just not all over the airwaves. You've got a proud school and service, take pride in the fact that it's that way even if most people have no idea it exists. It's a nice surprise when they do know! Trust me.

I know that we actually "do" our missions more than the other services (when we're not at war). But there's no denying that USMA, USNA, and even USAFA is recognized more than us. Perhaps it comes to the fact that we're a coastal service and don't deal much with inland states, or that the majority of coasties don't seek the limelight.

Thanks LITS. I really need that now. I'm certainly not getting lazier, but I've realized I've become more cynical about the academy in the past couple of weeks, which is pretty normal I've heard. Where would you recommend I look to discover some more of the history and pride?

And how did you get your hands on a 1908 Tide Rips? I doubt the library even has something that old.

You're in the same class as one of my old shipmates. I'll bring my Tide Rips up to CGA next weekend (my 5 year reunion). I think the Alumni Association has a 1925 Tide Rips. Just funny to read through them.

Getting cynical normal. At some point it will pass. It may take you a few years after you graduate to see the academy differently.

I have to say, I'm actually excited to return.
