Congrats to all of you, I still remember those days and as excited our DS was, I think his father and I were more excited because we could finally breathe again!
For those still waiting, understand that this is not a NO, what occurs is that the 1st board is where they get the 1st look of incoming candidates. They will know from a historic POV that some of these kids regardless of how many come in would have been offered a scholarship against LY's candidate pool.
It will not nor does not reflect their success in ROTC. Not trying to burst the balloon of those accepted, I am just saying that it is like the EA for a college, some kids get deferred to a later decision, but that doesn't mean they will not be there next yr, nor that they can't graduate Summa Cum Laude.
They cannot and will not hand out the entire pot of gold on the 1st board if applications are not closed. They will continue to review the pool. LY there were cadets that got the scholarship even though they were re-boarded.
Again, to the candidates...now get your DoDMERB paperwork in order, and wrap yourself up in bubble wrap...no more skiing/snowboarding the black diamond trails! Also be smart...no speeding tickets, no plagarizing, no driving in a car with a kid that had just 1 beer, even though you didn't imbibe. In other words keep your nose clean!
Good luck, congrats, enjoy your sr. yr.
