Hey everyone.
I have a question.
I'm not exactly sure if this is the right place for it but thanks for reading / helping with my question if not.

Basically I'm trying to join the Navy.
5 days post-birth I had a heart surgery called Transposition of the Great Arteries.
I've sent in medical documents to MEPS on two difference occasions and they were both denied.
I then sent my documents to BUMED where they reviewed them and said it was okay for them to at least do the physical at MEPS.

My question is this.
In your opinion, do you think that I will get accepted in the end with this "condition"? All of my documents since birth have been perfect. I've never had to go to the doctor FOR my condition. Sure, I've gone for checkups every few years but that is all.

I told my Cardiologist I planned on joining and he wrote up a summary stating in his opinion I was fine to join. I've taken a stress test which shows I'm in perfect condition as well.

I'm very active, I work 40 hours a week doing demolition / post construction clean up.
Every other day I run 6.6 miles. (That's how much one lap is around my neighborhood.)

I think I may be rambling on a bit but I'll explain more with any questions asked.
Thanks for your time.

Nathan.

EDIT: I realized I put this in a completely wrong forum.
Sorry about that.
Any answers will still be appreciated.
Thank you.

if you post your question at this other subforum on another internet forum entirely: http://www.airwarriors.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=88
someone named "feddoc" will probably answer and be able to give you bumed advice.

Why would you send someone to another forum for a DODMERB question?

What's wrong with our own RetNavyHM?

the OP asked about "bumed". bumed isn't dodmerb, but a different group. lol.

EDIT: and RetNavyHM is awesome! he definitely helped me on my dodmerb issue months ago :thumb::biggrin:

Well BUMED does all the waiver for USNA and NROTC. So in that respect I'm kind of familiar with BUMED. In this case it appears that Nprushan is attempting to enlist in the Navy, is that correct?

Since BUMED has given you the OK to take the MEPS physical examination, and as long as everything is normal as you state, I don't think there should be an issue.
