So I took the CFA today and want to get a general idea of where my scores are and what I should put extra focus on to improve. Not that it matters, but this is my second time reapplying.

BB Throw: 43 ft
Pull ups: 1
Shuttle Run: 10.23 s
Sit ups: 90
Push ups: 40
Mile run: about 7:55

Oh and by the way, I'm female.

Can improve on anything. Like any girl applying (shoot, anyone applying), push-ups, pull-ups and the mile run are going to be toughest and the areas that can always be improved. So get it! Woo!

To my knowledge, those are pretty good scores on the female side. I'm sure someone else would know more on that matter.

The scores are good for a female. However, as I posted about a week ago, good may not be good enough in this super-competitive environment. If you think you can improve, I suggest you retake and resubmit. The two areas you would want to work on are mile and pull-ups. A sub 7:30 mile would be much better. The shuttle run is also a bit slow -- a sub-10 minute would be better. One pull-up is good for a female -- if you can do one, you can crank out 3!

Also, I see you did 90 crunches. Is that more than the max (I can't recall)? If so, please do NOT do more than the max. You get no extra points and only tire yourself out for future events.

I do plan on retaking at some point in the future. With NROTC PT 3 times a week I've already improved my physical fitness a lot, and I intend on continuing to improve. I would have waited a bit to take the CFA, but my BGO recommended I take it before it gets too much colder here (I'm currently attending school in Maine). I had to do the mile in the rain on turf today so it brought down my time a bit, so I feel like I could probably get below 7:30. And pull ups is something I'm consistently working on too. Got a pull up bar in the doorway of my room in the dorms.

And the max for the sit ups in 95, so I'm really close to maxing.

As noted, your scores are good. Did not mean to suggest otherwise. However, when there are so many good candidates, a "great" CFA can be one more factor in your favor. Good on you for the 90 crunches (as noted, I wasn't sure of the max#).

I can relate to Maine -- spent nearly 3 yrs there when I was in the USN. There are 4 seasons in Maine: early winter, mid winter, late winter, and . . . next winter.:yllol:

If you can improve in the next month before it's truly frostbite season, resubmit! Every little improvement helps.

You could hit max situps by Saturday. Probably up your pullups by two or three within a couple weeks. Pushups too, as well as mile time. I'm sure you've been doing this, but I feel it valuable to note for any others who read: DO SPRINTS. They increase your mile time significantly. I don't care if you can run 5 miles, if you're just jogging the entire time, you aren't doing much good.

That's all if you plan on resubmitting, of course. Which, judging by the simple fact that you've made this thread, you do.

If you can get 90 situps that shows you have endurance plus a strong core. You should be able to get your mile time down to a 7:00 flat EASILY. I would run 1.5 miles (6 laps on a track) everyday for a workout. You always wanna run more than what the test asks for because the extra .5 miles on a workout could be the final push of the last lap on the mile. A good diet also keeps off the weight you dont necessarily need to eat healthy but just check the nutrition labels of foods you eat.

Its better to eat something that has more sodium but less fat as opposed to
less sodium and more fat. Salt can hydrate with water but fat can't.
