Maritime Administration in crisis

Academy Improvements

I noticed that Land Hall had a new coat of paint on it when I was on campus recently. It was a much needed improvement and the midshipmen deserve nice looking facilities. I was thankful to see how nice Land Hall looked. A very little bit of money can make a big difference. Here is an interesting account of 126 million dollars of DOT funds going to other DOT priorites. http://fastlane.dot.gov/2011/10/englewood-flyover.html I do believe that the Honorable LaHood is in this news article with Rahm on the day that RADM Greene was reassigned. Also, http://www.createprogram.org/ might explain where some of the DOT funds may being going.

That's highway money, not maritime money. It's not like the secretary gets a lump sum that he doles out to whomever he wants. Appropriated money can be very detailed and specific as to what it is authorized to be spent on. Spending from the wrong "pot of money" will get you in big trouble.

I have decided to leave this thread open for discussion and I have moved it to what is a more appropriate forum for that discussion.

With that said, please be careful what you post. We respect the opinions of our members with regard to this issue but ultimately we have rules that are here for the benefit of all of our members. Not every decision we make will be well liked by everyone, but we will do what is in the best interests of the forum and its membership as a whole.

Thank you.

Disgraceful.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
