My daughter was asked to supply information regarding a brain surgery she had 2 years ago. The surgery corrected a Chiari malformation and a syrinx on her spine. The surgery was 100% effective. We supplied all the documentation and she was disqualified. History of congential malformations of the nervous system(D211.10) and Medical officer miscellaneous disqualified(D200.00). The Chiari and the syrinx do not exist anymore but she still was disqualified. We have to wait for a waiver now? What else can we do to get this reversed?

our DD was able to successfully pursue a waiver through the USCGA. As has been posted before, DoDMERB does not grant waivers; that falls to the individual academy/ROTC. I believe your only real option is to follow through with the application process and see if a waiver is requested. The waiver process itself is different from one academy to another.

What can you do to get it reversed? Nothing. Request a waiver and hope.
