Operation 24

Interested in Operation 24

I am currently a junior in high school and I am starting to look into ROTC. I see I can train with the current cadets and get a feel on what it is like to be in ROTC? When is the next time I can take part in Operation 24?

Our next event will be on Thursday, 27 OCT. You will need parental permission to take part. Have your parents call me at the office, 845-575-3000x2814.

Great program Marist! All schools/units should do this. I know the corps at VA Tech does this on a regular basis although I don't think they're allowed to PT with the cadets.
Good luck! :thumb:

This looks like a terrific opportunity for my DS junior. Will Marist offer it Spring 2012?

It is especially good that not only is the day about ROTC, but also an opportunity to interview with a faculty - it is important that the cadet is sold on the school.

This is the type of program you associate with the SMCs and not typical at most ROTC host schools. Kudos.

Yes the visit is more than Ro

Goalie Dad you are correct on that. My son had one on one with the head of the department he was interested in. If he wanted he could have met with the coaches and teams too!

Actually, they do get to do PT with the cadets at VT! In fact, when they run, the prospective cadets have their own platoons, and prospective cadets are chosen as platoon leaders. My DS did this during the last "Weekend with the Corps" of the year last spring, so maybe it was a new thing.

In addition to many of the other points already mentioned, the students that participate also receive a thorough briefing about the ROTC Scholarship process.
At least 7 of last year's participants later received the ROTC Scholarship. I know that the advice they received at the briefing was directly responsible for some tweaks in their application and believe this had a direct impact in some of these scholarship applications.

Love to experience Marist's ROTC Program

I would like to participate in Operation 24. I need to make sure it is fine with High School teachers and coach first. When is your deadline?

To Marist College ROTC - You should receive a phone call from my parents today about taking part in this upcoming Operation 24!

Just took part in the most recent Operation 24. Not only was it a great time but also I got all my ROTC questions answered

Attended Operation 24

I also attended the Operation 24! I got to see how ROTC cadets function in a 24 hour day and they had a demonstration with wolves while I was there. The bonus was I was able to take home an MRE! Very handy in New England with all the power outages! We are on our 2nd day of no school.

Operation 24/Nov. 10

Marist, What would be the deadline for sign up for the Nov. 10 Operation 24, and what time does it start? Thank you.
