The first annual All-Military Classic will be held in Colorado Springs this weekend as USAFA, USMA, VMI and The Citadel face off to open the new basketball season. VMI and The Citadel will be playing a late game (tipoff is at midnight for those of us on the East Coast!) on Friday, getting things started right on VMI Founder's Day!

Let's go, Keydets!!!

And unlike Football- Basketball hasn't been a doormat for the last decade. They beat Army the last 2 times they have played (2009 and 2008 seasons) and beat Kentucky to start the 08/09 season. VMI has had the highest scoring offense in D1 Basketball in the country for the past 4 years- so this promises to be a much more interesting set of games than the football team would provide.

Keydets Hang On For Season-Opening Win, 103-100

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - VMI posted six players in double figures, led wire to wire and survived a furious rally by The Citadel Bulldogs to take a 103-100 win in game two of the All-Military Classic, contested late Friday at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo....
VMI will return to action Saturday, playing for the All-Military Classic title at 10:30 Eastern Time, taking on the Air Force Falcons. The meeting will be the first-ever contest between the programs.

Sounds like VMI's game is again built around run and gun. Not defensive masterpieces, but they put the points on the board and it's pretty exciting to watch. Wish I could watch as VMI (hopefuly) puts AF away today!
Go Keydets- Beat Air Force!!
