Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here! This is the first Thanksgiving Day that my USAFA grad will not be coming home. He is in Pueblo for IFS, and has a 4-day weekend so he and some IFS classmates rented a condo in Keystone for snowboarding. I don't think he will be missing us as much as we will miss him!

Best wishes to all of you!

And to you, too, Stealth! I picked up my DS at the gates of USMA yesterday. Wonderful turkey day this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sadly, I'm not looking forward to the day when my report will be similar to your's: "This is the first Thanksgiving Day that my [USMA] grad will not be coming home." But that's for another day. :frown:

They do grow up don't they? And when they do, parents become less and less important to their lives. It is as it should be. I was privileged (?) to drive 6 hours in pouring rain on Nov. 22 to fetch my Rat from VMI. And will be privileged to return him to VMI today via another 6 hour drive (at least it isn't raining today). But I must say, I don't mind, as I know full well that the day is coming all too soon that, after he gets his commission, months (years?) will go by during which I won't see him at all. I look on it as an opportunity to share with him the last few years before that happens.

I had a football game to march in to and attend on Thanksgiving Day so my awesome parents drove 11 hours to come visit me at Texas A&M

That is awesome. I bet you were glad to see them. Make sure that they know that.

I drove 11 hours today. 6 hours down Interstate 81 in awful traffic and 5 hours back in awful traffic. A round trip that normally takes no more than 6 hours.
