DS was DQ'd for genetic eye issue (vision correctable to 20/20 with glasses/contacts) by Academy after receiving an LOA, any chance for reconsideration if he offers to take a complete military eye exam?

Have DS contact Academy Counselor for waiver status. The Academy requests/issues waivers for the medical issues.

Can't hurt to ask. If it's a genetic eye issue the question is progression. If it is something that is bound to get worse with time then I doubt a waiver will be granted (eg Retinitis Pigmentosa)

DS was sent a medical DQ from the Academy. Parents took him to a noted specialist at a major medical center (an ophthalmologist not optometrist) who performed a complete eye exam and basically said DS was mis- diagnosed at age 6 with ocular albinism. DS is near-sighted correctable to 20/20 and as stated by specialist does not have ocular albinism. DS will submit all new information to DODMERB and both USNA Admissions and Medical Review. DS will also submit specialist's bio. As DS now has documentation that contradicts his own historical eye medical records, will the medical side reopen the case?

DS granted waiver (now 3 Q'd), has LOA & just received Congressional nom (great Christmas present), I believe it is time for the bubble wrap...
