Asking for my daughter we were wondering when the online application usually shows up to begin filling it out? Thanks in advance.

Early-to-mid September.

If she completes it by November 1, she will be eligible for an Early Action decision by December 24.

When we were on an admissions tour at the CGA in April the admissions officer indicated that the applications could possibly be up at the end of July.

Thanks much

Thanks for the info. I was assuming more near term than that but no problem now that we know. Hopefully we can find a way to get there for a tour this summer as well. Thanks again.

yeah I was pretty sure I had read it would be up in August, but now the website says September.... doesnt lleave a lot of time.. but its all we got to work with.

Good luck to your daughter. The CGA is a great place for young women and the service itself is the only one in which women can do every job from Deck Watch Officer to Commandant.

I would urge her to get her recommendations early(english teacher, math teacher, coach); get her medical exam as soon as possible; work on her essay and app. Early action is a good option for her. It sounds difficult but it's doable. Good luck to her. :thumb:

Yeah that is her intention.. Right after school starts to start bugging her teachers and the princicpal. She also plans to get a letter from the gentleman that runs our church's youth group and from one of our councty councilman, as it was him (a Retired USAF COL) that recommended her for a Youth Leadership program easlier this summer that is given by the MOWW. As well as get her letter from our Congressman.

Also, I just signed her up to retake the ACT and SAT's as her first test scores were not very good. Her dad is retired USAF so she has an easier chance at that Academy, but ever since we went to an Academy night in Seattle last December she has wanted to go to the USCGA. And after the week at AIM, there really isnt a discussion anymore, but realistically she understands that she has to have a back up plan.

The SAT's or ACT's are very important in the overall picture, so by all means she should work on that. I can't compare the academies but they all look for good test scores.

Have I been gone that long?! 2013?! 2012 just put on shoulder boards today!
