Is it OK to use the same nomination essay for the academies themselves as for the nominations? The questions are all 'Why do you want to attend a service academy?', and my answer is the same every time. My problem is, the VP nomination essays go directly to the academies, so if I send the same ones, they will see that.
Please let me know what you think.
BTW, I am just preparing essays for when I can start applying for nominations in March for 2017.

If I'm reading this correctly, it seems as though you're applying to multiple academies? In any case, I wouldn't send exactly the same essays to each one. My advice is to tailor each one specifically to the academy. For example, tell what you like about each one for their specific essay. (i.e. certain programs, facilities, their values or mission, etc). Then for the nominations essay, I'd use the more generalized version.

Have you checked into your MOC noms?

Most if not all do not close until Sept/Oct. It is not "rolling". In other words submit March 15th and you still will not here until after the close date; 6-7 months after March.

You also need to be accepted by the AFA as an applicant, PCQ.

You are putting the cart before the horse. We all get you are excited, but this is not a sprint, it is a marathon. First out of the gate does not equate into winning the appointment. The applicant who submits in Sept with an up to date resume, will probably look better on paper than you who submitted a resume in March of their jr yr.

MOCs traditionally do not accept piece meal...it is all or nothing.

Thanks for the help, and yes I will be applying to multiple academies.

Thanks Pima. I understand the non-rolling nomination process, but I do not usually have time to write too much over the summer, so I figured I would get a head start.
