Hi!
I saw my nomination appear on the portal on 18 January and all of the boxes in the portal are green, but I have neither recieved notice of my nomination in the mail nor gotten any notification of qualification academically. Is it safe to assume that since there has been no appointment yet and that I have a nomination, I did not recieve the primary slot? I'm not exactly sure what to make of my situation.

Thanks!

mng249,

I would suggest you call your Regional Commander, USMA Admissions and review your file. The RC can answer your questions and tell you what else you can do to improve your WCS. You can also contact the Service Academy Cooridator at the MOC (Rep. or Senator) that awarded you the Nomination, but the RC will have more specific information.

Hope this helps!

Assume nothing.. Call and find out what your status is.. It shows them you are really intrested.

Congradulations on your Nomination and getting this far..

Good luck!

My cadet never received a letter announcing his nomination. He had a phone call from the Senator's assistant and the nomination eventually appeared on his portal. He never received a 3Q letter. In fact, he did not hear anything from the Senator or West Point until his big fat envelope arrived.

mng249- I was a principle nom, and I didn't hear anything for about 1-2 weeks after I received it. Also remember, not all congressmen use principle nominations.

I'm in the same boat - nominated, passed DoDMERB, portal is 100% done. But I haven't received mail from the the USMA in a while.

Do you suggest I email my regional commander asking for an update on my status?

Thanks.

Emailed admissions officer, was told to be patient.

Emailed regional coordinator, hoping to hear back soon.

It is really unfortunate being in this quasi-admitted, maybe-there state! Hopefully there will be some resolution soon!
