Hey guys. I'm applying for AIM and had a couple of questions.
1. On the activities list under extracuricular information, what is the best way to include clubs that are not listed on the list but are community service oriented? Currently, I have it set as other and listed the club in the box (i.e. Key Club). Is this the "best" or correct way to input this or list them as the community service option and then include the club in the achievements box?
2. I already have two letters of recomendation ( Guidance Counselor and SCA Sponsor). What would be the best for the third LOR? My best choices are Varsity Swim Coach, Key Club Sponsor, Jr. Civitan Sponsor, my boss (I'm a Lifeguard for the Coast Guard), my AP History/ AP Psychology teacher, NHS sponsor, or the director of the local youth leadership I'm currently enrolled in.
3. On the first personal statement, when it asks why do you want to attend AIM, would it be appropriate to include interest in the Academy and the Coast Guard (since the main purpose of AIM is to provide students with a glimplse of the academy), or would that be too far in-depth?
Thank You all and sorry for the long post. This website really is one of the best places to get info about the Academies.
