Hey everyone,

I'm a Senior ROTC cadet and a USMA-16 candidate from NYC and I just received a principal nomination from my congressman. I contacted both my FF Liaison and Maj. Belmont in admissions and it SEEMS that I've been 3Q'd (I didn't receive any official notification, but my FF Liaison (a USMA grad himself who has been the FF Liaison for my school the last 5 years or so) said that I'm essentially waiting for a BFE). With nothing official, I'm not quick to get all giddy about it, but I trust his judgement. And Maj. Belmont said that I wouldn't be staring at my mailbox for too long as I wait to hear any results.

Hypothetically, if the admissions board meets this Tuesday and I get reviewed , how long will it take after I've been reviewed for appointment / NWL slot / denial? I don't want to jump the gun here, but I'm a bit anxious about the decision.

If anyone is curious, I'm majoring in Psychology here in the city, but if I manage to make it to USMA, I think I'd major in Defense and Strategic Studies and then try to pursue a commission as either Field Artillery or Military Intelligence officer

Aeneas,
Congratulations! If you rec'd a Principle Nom and are 3Q'd, then legally, you have earned an Appointment to USMA!!! Congratulations!! :thumb: The USMA Admsissions meet every Tuesday and typically USMA allows your Congressman a few days to give you the official notification -- just depends on the Congressman and their Service Academy Coordinator...so the timing to recieve the official Letter of Appointment may be next week.

Again, Congratulations! :jump1:

Thank-you, but I'm not entirely sure that I've been deemed officially 3Q'd as I haven't received any official documentation saying wether I am or not (No news is good news?). God willing I make it.

I suppose I'll just have to keep playing the waiting game to see what happens. Thank-you again, Hooah1775.

Aeneas,
If the FFR and RC(MAJ Belmont) told you that you have been 3Q'd, then I would take them at their word. Sometimes an RC does not send out a 3Q letter if the official Letter of Appointment is imminent.

Congratulations again! Sounds like you are on the right track and preparing for Beast over the next 5 months and finishing strong in school are your top priorities!

GO ARMY! BEAT NAVY!
