Thanks Objee. So 153 full appointment offers and 52 conditional offers total. Can you provide an approximate number of appointments left for RA applicants?

So 153 full appointment offers and 52 conditional offers total.

CGAS appointments are not counted as appointments to this year's class - EA yielded 147 full appointments to the class of 2016.

I'm impressed by the rise in average SAT scores: combined 1348 has to be close to the highest ever at USCGA.

And it's nice to know the TRUE appointment percentage (147/712 = 20.6%) as well.

Thanks Luigi. DS is a re-applicant so we are waiting and hoping....:thumb:

Objee- do you have the numbers for the amount put on the waiting list so far?

Can any information be shared with regard to the number of 2016 EA applicants who were offered a spot on the wait list?

Average GPA: 3.91 (all reported GPA's are converted to a 4.00 scale)

3.91 - that is a really high average GPA.

Does anyone know if that is a weighted or unweighted GPA?

The incoming class will be 265 and we're anticipating 50 CGAS graduates plus five medical deferrals from the Class of 2015, so we need 210 standard acceptances. It's always a bit of a guessing game when you're trying to forecast how many EA conditional appointments will become full appointments and then how many EA full appointments will accept, but we're planning to tender another 145-150 appointments during RA.

Interesting, the SAT scores are up significantly compared to last year but the average class rank is down significantly.

There are so many things we consider in the holistic review of someone's academic record: ACT/SAT scores; GPA; high school rank; curriculum offered; curriculum taken; school(s) attended; dual enrollment; post-high school experience; instructor evaluations; personal statements; etc. etc. etc. As more and more high schools stop ranking (or providing us class ranks for) their students, an applicant's high school rank really becomes less and less important compared to all the other items we have to consider.

Phone Calls

Since admissions is beginning to send out notifications next Wednesday, will there be phone calls like there were for EA? If so when will those go out?

Objee- do you have the numbers for the amount put on the waiting list so far?

47 EA applicants were offered a spot on the wait list for the Class of 2016 and about 25 EA applicants were offered a spot on the wait list for CGAS appointments.

Does anyone know if that is a weighted or unweighted GPA?

We only request an applicant's cumulative (unweighted) GPA, but are often provided both a weighted GPA and unweighted GPA on the high school transcript. We obviously consider all information reported to us when holistically reviewing a record, but we use unweighted GPA for statistical reporting.

The first Admissions Committee to review RA appointment recommendations will be held this Thursday and Friday, so I guess phone calls could start this weekend or Monday.

Thanks!

Do phone calls go out to only appointed/CGAS appointees?

Objee,

What we've been hearing on this side of the house was 241 as a final number, was that a recent change or was that just a rumor?

Wow. A range of 145-150 appointements offered to RA applicants...The waiting and wondering is intense. Good luck to everyone waiting and hoping.

Early in the process 240 was the number we were told. However, sometime in December my son received communication from admissions stating that the incoming 2016 class size had been revised upward to 265.
