Acronyms

My son received his BFE today as well. He was notified last week by MOC that it would be coming. It wasn't as fat as I thought it would be. None the less I am thrilled that he got it. I have a request for anyone willing to help. For myself and all the other parents out there that are new to this, could somebody post a list of the acronyms that are being used? I keep seeing DS and DD. Does that stand for Dear Son and Dear Daughter? I feel like I have alot to learn..

Haha - I have a junior and I always thought that stood for Designated Son or Designated Daughter so your guess sounds as good as mine!

I just can't get myself to say "Dear Son" - not after years of: "HEY! YOU! and C'MERE YA LITTLE MONSTER!!! and GET CRACKKIN YA LITTLE SHIRKER" etc...

I just say "my son"

If you go to the on line application, there is a link to a handbook that has more information than was in the BFE. Not sure why, but there is more detail in the on line version.

Hi there, Proud Mom in Pa, Congratulations to your son and your entire family. That is wonderful news. You need to go to your User CP and update your "Prospective-2016" to say "Appointee 2016" So happy for you and others that have started getting the news. Can't wait to find out here in NC.

Printable forms?

I know in the online appointee handbook the forms that need to be submitted are in last pages. Question: Will the Academy send these forms (they did in 2010 so this is why I am asking) at a later date? I could print them, but why duplicate them if they are going to send them anyway. Trying to save a few trees :shake:
