I know that sometimes candidates wonder about such things, so I thought I would share:
My DS received an email yesterday from the USNA simply acknowledging his acceptance of their offer of an appointment and informing him that he will receive instructions for I-Day "in the April-May 2012 time frame." He sent in his acceptance via regular mail January 28th. His candidate page on the USNA admissions website has not changed. He has not received back the original copy of his birth certificate from the USNA. He submitted his police background check to our local police in December, shortly after receiving the offer of appointment.
Best of luck to those still waiting for a BFE! Hope to see you June 28th!

Assuming the email your DS received was the same as DD's, my favorite line was "In the meantime, keep up the good work and do your pushups."
