army rotc scholarship question?

I was wondering what my chances were of getting an rotc scholarship was, im really hoping to get it so that my parents have a little more room to breathe financially (1 in college me and anothe in catholic school) please leave opinions also I apologize if there was already a thread somewhere on the forum for this!

SAT(math-reading)- 1210

GPA- 3.2

3 varsity letters in socccer, 2 in basketball

captain for soccer

average of 20 hours a year in service
part-time job as a unit secretary

now for the not so great part

PFT:
Push-ups:21
sit-ups:38
mile time: 6:29

Nobody here will be able to give you an answer.

A lot will depend on your school selections, your overall leadership, and your interview.

Don't worry about the PFT, I was told by many that the board really doesn't put that much weight on the PFT. They do look at the run and your run time wasn't bad.

Your SAT isn't bad.

It will depend on whether the board that reviews your application sees what they are looking for.

Your stats you posted are average, whether average will be enough will only be determined by the next board.

If someone on this forum had a crystal ball they could make some real money.

Assuming you are still a HS Junior (it is too late if you are a Senior), you still have a chance for a scholarship given that you apply (the odds are 0 if you don').

Your stats don't scream 1st board selection but don't say you are out of it. We don't know where you rank in your class (an important thing in the application) nor how rigourous your class schedule has been.

There is still time to improve things. Take the SAT again. Sign up for the ACT (many people test better on it). Buckle down on your studies and try to squeeze an additional tenth of a point into your cumulative GPA this term.

The other thing you need to be aware of is your school selection if you are evaluating your chances for a scholarship. The Army has been changing the allocation of scholarships favoring lower cost in-state publics over higher priced private institutions. Most higher priced private schools are lucky to have 1 4-year scholarship and a 3-year AD awarded for the year.

Most importantly though, you need to step back and ask yourself if you are in this because you want to serve your country and find the military experience exciting or are you in it for the money. Don't do it for the money. If you aren't enjoying the experience, you won't do well and won't be kept around.

If the OP is a Senior and has applied they still have one more board to go.

Not quite sure what you mean,

The OP, from the fact he has already completed the PFT, I assume he is a senior and has completed the application on time and is waiting to hear if he will receive a scholarship this year.

Not quite sure how it is too late for him if he is a senior.

Hey scholarship...are you asking what your chances are on the last board. Your stats will tell us very little if that's the case. At that point in the process what schools you have on your list plays a much larger role. If it makes you feel any better...your stats look wonderful.

I am currently a senior and to answer the schools question, here are most of the schools in order. (im pretty sure)

1. the Citadel
2. Norwich University
3. University of Maryland-CP
4. University of Delaware
5. St Lawrence University

If you get a scholarship at #5 jump at it because then you can go play with clarksonarmy. I wouldn't get my hopes too high though. Assuming you live in Maryland your other school choices seem a bit expensive. Not sure how much weight that has in these tight budget times, but... Clarksonarmy can probably give you more insight.
