Hi,

I'm a candidate for admission for the 2016 class. I received a principal nomination and am a little curious about the triple qualification thing that seems to get thrown around here a lot.

As far as I can tell, it means you're qualified medically, physically and academically.

Does this means that as long as you've satisfied the base requirements for the above three, your extracurriculars are simply no factor?

No. Your ECs are a very important part of your WCS. 20% of your WCS is the Extracurricular Composite which is made up of Athletic participation, leadership position (scouts, school clubs, class officer, etc.), public/community involvement and work experiences.

20% of your WCS is the Admissions Panel Faculty and staff review, candidate
fitness assessment, Admissions Liaison Officer interview, and writing sample.

The remaining 60% is the Academic Composite High School or College
academic performance, SAT or ACT scores.

The "triple qualified" is only a prerequisite to Admissions even looking at your application. For further information see the USAFA catalog at

Good luck :thumb:

PS if you are a principal nomination and meet the minimums you are in a great position.
